How to Get Involved

Kids grow up fast! Get your kids started now so they develop a love for the sport and can continue to play or compete into high school, college and beyond. There are also plenty of programs that engage the whole family, proving that tennis is truly the sport of a lifetime. Becoming a USTA Member is a great way to get involved in all of the opportunities available to your family. Gain access to competition, top tennis publications and other special benefits. Find what inspires you.

Get the right size equipment for your kids. Smaller courts, shorter racquets and balls that bounce lower – it’s easier and more fun for kids to play tennis with equipment sized right for age and ability.

Be a coach or helper. Learn to coach 10 and Under Tennis, or volunteer to help out your child’s team or tennis club in other ways.

Keep it fun! Kids will model your behavior, so be patient and encouraging. Reward successes. Smile, have fun and be positive in tone and body language.

Monitor their tennis experience. Make sure your child is playing tennis in a positive environment with an enthusiastic and supportive coach.
