Tennis Programs

From schools to rec centers to tennis clubs, there are many types of programs that offer children's tennis in your community.

Tennis in Schools

Schools across the country are "getting on the bus" and offering the lifetime sport of tennis in physical education classes, during recess periods and through after-school programs. By utilizing modified equipment and shorter courts, 10 and Under Tennis can convert any activity space to accommodate tennis, including playgrounds, gymnasiums, parking lots and even dirt fields. Parents can help the USTA bring tennis into more schools by becoming an "Adopt-a-School" advocate.

Community Tennis Associations (CTAs)

Another way to get your child started in tennis is through Community Tennis Associations. CTAs are groups that work to coordinate and maintain tennis programs and services in their regional markets. These organizations are run by volunteers and promote and develop the game of tennis in the local community.

National Junior Tennis and Learning (NJTL)

National Junior Tennis and Learning (NJTL) tennis programs are reaching out to provide tennis and education to America's underserved youth.  The NJTL network is a national group of more than 600 nonprofit youth development organizations that provide free or low-cost tennis, education and life skills programming to 250,000 children each year.  This growing network shares a commitment to positive youth development, education and tennis as a lifetime sport.

Tennis in the Parks

Town park and recreation programs reach more than 300 million people in this country, and there is likely to be one in your local area.  Over 80% of park and rec programs offer some type of afterschool or weekend tennis lessons and play opportunities.  The mission of park and recreation programs is to improve well-being for individuals and families, safeguard the environment, and provide safe, fun recreation.

Tennis Camps

Tennis camps give young players the opportunity to improve their tennis game, get fit, and make new friends.  Both overnight and tennis day camps are available in the summer across the country.  Kids have fun with activities on and off the court, learn team and leadership skills, and build confidence in their game.  Many tennis camps now use the 10 and Under Tennis equipment and rules for younger players.
